Detailed Itinerary:
Arrival at Guwahati airport or Rly station & drive to Shillong. Shillong, also called 'Scotland of the East' (100 km 3 hrs). While traveling we see the majestic Umiam Lake (Barapani) surrounded by sylvan hills and wrapped in the beauty of an assortment of green Khasi-pines and the azure blue skies. Upon arrival at Shillong, check in at your hotel. Overnight at Shillong.
Today morning after breakfast excursion to Cherrapunjee. Visit Dwan Syiem view point, Noh kalikai falls, Mawsmai caves, Seven Sister falls, Eco park etc. Later drive back to Shillong. On the way visit to Shillong Peak & Elephant Falls. In the evening, you can go for shopping at Police Bazar. Overnight in Shillong.
After breakfast drive from Shillong to Mawllynnong Village. Mawlynnong/Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90 kms from Shillong and is a community based eco-tourism initiative. The community has made collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the Single Decker living root bridge at a neighbouring village Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. Visit Dawki, the Bangladesh Border (Tamabil Border from Bangladesh side). Main attraction is the Umgot river with crystal clear water . You can enjoy along boat ride there. Check in Hotel. Overnight at Shillong.
Early morning after breakfast drive to Tezpur/Bhalukpong. Check in Hotel. Overnight at Tezpur/Bhalukpong.
After early breakfast drive to Dirang. On the way visit Tipi Orchidarium situated on the banks of the river Bharali, a place over 500 orchids, on display there are some rare species of orchid. Arunachal has largest range of orchids in the country then take a break to visit Nag Temple. Continue your drive and do not forget to keep your cameras handy as you cross beautiful waterfalls and get some spectacular views. Dirang is also famous for hot water springs where people take bath to cure skin ailments. Overnight stay at Dirang.
Early morning after breakfast drive to Tawang. Enroute witness the snowcapped Sella Pass at 14000 ft and the Jaswant Garh War Memorial. (Legend has it that Jaswant (Mahavir Chakra Awardee (Posthumous) of 4th Batallion Garhwal Rifles), fought a lone battle against the invading Chinese during the 1962 war. His spirit is still believed to protect the place). Overnight in Tawang.
Tawang - The beautiful land of the Monpa tribes with the “GALDEN NAMGYEL LHATSE” Monestary - one of the largest Lamaseries of Mahayana sect in Asia. The birth place of the 6th Dalai Lama, the Monastery is 400 year old and is adorned with the 18 feet high statue of Lord Buddha. ‘The Land of Dawn-lit Mountains’ at 3500 mts gives you unparallel purity of nature. Visit the monastery and the War Memorial. Evening free for shopping. Overnight in Tawang. Optional tour to visit Bum La Pass (Indo-China Border) for which you will have to take permit from the DC office at Tawang, Sangestar Lake (Madhuri Lake) and Pangateng Tso Lake (P.Tso Lake). Please Note you will also have to take a local taxi in Tawang to cover these places as our vehicles are not allowed. Overnight at Tawang.
Early morning after breakfast transfer to Bomdila (8,200 ft.) - the headquarter of West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh and also known for its Buddhist monasteries. It has a lot of attractions for the visitors for its cool climate. On arrival check in to the hotel. Later visit Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery (Upper Gonpa), Thub-Chog Gatsel Ling Monastery (Lower Gonpa).Bomdila offers wonderfully panoramic view of Himalayan landscapes and snow clad ranges. Evening you can visit the local market. Overnight stay at Bomdila.
Early morning after breakfast drive to Kaziranga. Check in Hotel. Overnight in Kaziranga.
Early morning go for Elephant ride in the park. (Elephant riding time: 1st Ride 5.15-6.15 AM; 2nd ride: 6.30-7.30 am) Return for Breakfast. After breakfast Jeep safari in the Central Range. Later drive to Guwahati. Check in Hotel. Evening enjoy sunset River cruise over the river Brahmaputra (Cruise is subject to weather conditions & availability, PAYMENT WILL BE DIRECT). Overnight at Guwahati.
Early morning after breakfast visit Kamakhya Temple. In time transfer to Guwahati airport / Rly station.
